Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Sudarshan Setu Bridge on 25th February
Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would visit the sacred city of Dwarka on 25th February 2024, to formally unveil the much awaited Sudarshan Setu Bridge. The Okha-Beyt Dwarka Signature Bridge, an iconic structure, has the potential to revolutionize connectivity and increase tourism in the area. Sanghvi expressed her delight for the Prime Minister's visit and mentioned the colorful decorations the city has put up in lead-up to the occasion.
Sudarshan Setu Bridge is built at a cost of around Rs 980 crores. It is the longest Cable-stayed Bridge in the country of around 2.32 km. It has a distinctive design, with pictures of Bhagwan Krishna and lines from the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita adorning the walkway on both sides. On the higher sections of the walkway, solar panels have also been placed, producing one megawatt of power. This bridge will facilitate travel and shorten the amount of time it takes for devotees to get from Dwarka to Beyt-Dwarka. Prior to the bridge's erection, pilgrims had to get to Beyt Dwarka by boat. This magnificent bridge will also function as a key tourist attraction in Devbhoomi Dwarka.
Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari gave permission for the bridge's development in 2016. On 7th October 2017, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the bridge that will connect Okha and Beyt Dwarka. At an estimated cost of Rs 962 crore, the project is expected to help about 8,500 island people and host almost two million pilgrims who come to see the nearby temples.
Along with this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also inaugurate the indoor patient department of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) during his visit to Rajkot on 25th February. PM Modi will unveil a number of initiatives at Vadinar, including a pipeline project that will replace the current offshore lines, remove the pipeline end manifold (PLEM), and move the complete system to a new location that is close by, a medical college of JIPMER at Karaikal, Puducherry, and a 300-bed satellite centre of the Post Graduate Institute of Medical and Educational Research (PGIMER) in Sangrur, Punjab, 250-bed National Institute of Naturopathy named 'Nisarg Gram' in Pune and will also lay the foundation stone of various renewable energy projects, including the 300 MW Bhuj-II solar power project, grid-connected 600 MW solar PV power project, Khavda solar power project and the 200 MW Dayapur-II wind energy project
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate five new All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to the country on starting in Rajkot, Gujarat, with the motto "Ayushmann Bharat, Viksit Bharat." AIIMS Rajkot, AIIMS Mangalagiri, AIIMS Bhatinda, AIIMS Raebareli, and AIIMS Kalyani are the five new AIIMS that the Prime Minister will dedicate. On 20th February, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid foundation stones of multiple development projects worth over Rs 32,000 crores and inaugurated three new campuses of IIMs in the country, IIM Jammu, IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Visakhapatnam in Jammu. The Prime Minister dedicated and officially opened multiple projects totaling around Rs 13,375 crores, laying the groundwork for a major advancement in the nation's infrastructure for education and skill development. In addition, he will officially open 20 new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV) and 13 new Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVs) around the nation. Additionally, it states that Prime Minister Modi will dedicate one NV campus, five multipurpose halls for NVs throughout the nation, and five KV campuses.
