Young Scientist Programme 2024 for school children to be hosted by ISRO
The "Young Scientist Programme" (also known as "YUva VIgyani KAryakram") is a unique initiative that the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is planning to host for schoolchildren.
ISRO claimed to have designed this initiative with "Catch them young" in mind. Since children are the future foundation of the country, they may flourish in space science and technology if given the chance. It is anticipated that the YUVIKA program will also inspire a greater number of students to pursue professions and research in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
The Young Scientist Programme, or YUVIKA, was designed to teach younger students—with a preference for those attending rural schools—the fundamentals of space science, space technology, and space applications. Therefore, the program's goal is to educate pupils about the newest developments in science and technology. Two weeks of classroom instruction, real-world experiment demonstration, hands-on CANSAT, a robotic kit, model rocketry contacts with ISRO experts, and field trips are all part of the curriculum. 111, 153, and 337 students—representing each State and Union Territory—participated in the program, which was successfully run in 2019, 2022, and 2023. Lectures in the classroom, practical exercises like as robotics challenges, building rockets and satellites on your own, stargazing, etc., tours of technical facilities, and conversations with space experts will all be included in this course.
Indian students enrolled in Class 9 on January 1, 2024, are eligible to apply. Before submitting the application, applicants are urged to carefully verify all the information given in the form, as well as any uploaded papers and certifications.
