17th Lok Sabha session in New Delhi

Abrogation of Article 370, women's reservation bill, criminalization of Triple Talaq, hosting the prestigious G20 meet, functioning under Covid protocols, New Criminal Code, Reminder of 13 December attack and New Parliament building

On 10th February, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated the outgoing Lok Sabha; he mentioned the removal of special status for Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 of the Constitution, passage of women's reservation bill, criminalization of Triple Talaq and hosting the prestigious G20 meet that were taken during the course of its tenure. He also mentioned the resolution passed regarding the formation of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya passed in Lok Sabha. He said that in the coming 25 years, Indus will become 'Viksit Bharat'. The 17th Lok Sabha had 272 sittings from 2019 to 2024.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla for leading the Lok Sabha in an unbiased manner. He added further that even during a lot of chaos, Om Birla didn't lose his calm and dealt with the situation in a patient manner.
Press Trust of India shared a video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi praising Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla on X, "You (Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla) always had a smile on your face no matter what happens. You led this House in an impartial manner and I laud you for it. There were times of anger and accusations but you handled these situations with patience and ran the House wisely."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that these five years were about reform, perform and transform in the country and many game-changing reforms happened during this year. Many generations dreamed that there would be one constitution for the entire country but this house made it reality by scrapping Article 370. People who had played a part in creating the Constitution must be blessing us today. The people of Kashmir were distant from social justice. Today, we took it to them.

Press Trust of India shared a video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament on 10th February and wrote, "The productivity of the 17th Lok Sabha was nearly 97 per cent. We are moving towards the end of the 17th Lok Sabha, and we resolve that the productivity should go beyond 100 per cent in the 18th Lok Sabha."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi pinpointed on the government's focus on marginalized communities, efforts towards inclusion such as issuing identity cards to 17,000 transgender individuals and conferring Padma awards upon transgender individuals. The 2020 Monsoon session was the first to be postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it took place with significant modifications to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines. In order to maintain social distance, members of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha met separately, and all Members of Parliament were required to present with certificates proving they were COVID negative.

Modi said "Everyone knew that we required a new building. But no one took an initiative to take any action about it. Everyone felt that it was necessary, but no decision was made on it. We took a firm decision on it and because of that, we are holding sessions in the new Parliament today."
