69th Filmfare Awards 2024 - All latest updates '12th Fail' received worthy recognition
'12th Fail', 'Animal' and 'Rocky Rani Ki Prem Kahani' bagged most of the awards.
On 28th January, 2024 Bollywood stars dazzled on the Red Carpet of the 69th Filmfare Awards 2024 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, State Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi and Gujarat BJP President Chandrakant Raghunath Patil also graced the event. In July 2023, the Gujarat Tourism Corporation Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Worldwide media Pvt Ltd, a Times Group Company to organise the 69th Filmfare Awards. The big event was hosted by Karan Johar.
At the event Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi mentioned that there is a huge possibility for Gujarat Cinema Production in the upcoming days. People will definitely come here for film shooting due to the Gujarat Government's plan regarding film production, its infrastructure and natural beauty.
'12th Fail' received worthy recognition
Vikrant Massey was honored with the Filmfare Best Actor Critics Choice award for his captivating performance in '12th Fail'. His enticing and effortless portrayal of the character in the movie has been entertaining as well as inspiring. The movie is based on the real story of IAS officer Manoj Kumar and draws inspiration from the struggles of millions of students who dream of cracking the UPSC entrance exam every year. Vidhu Vinod Chopra won the Best Director award for the movie '12th Fail'.
Anand Mahindra, well-known businessman showed his happiness on the honour received by the movie '12th Fail 'by sharing a video posted by Filmfare, "Bravo @filmfare for recognising that simple and authentic storytelling is STILL at the heart of truly powerful cinema." Earlier also he has showered his love on the movie by sharing his review of the film. He wrote, "finally saw ‘12th Fail’ over this past weekend. If you see only one film this year, make it this one." He further expressed his views about the plot, acting, narrative style and highlights in the film. He concluded the post with, “Mr Chopra, yeh dil maange more films like this!”
Filmfare Award for Best Actress and Actor
Alia Bhatt won the Best Actress award for her enticing performance in the movie 'Rocky and Rani Ki Prem Kahani'. Ranbir Kapoor won the Best Actor in a Leading Role for the movie 'Animal'.
Filmfare Award for Best Actress Critics
Rani Mukherjee for 'Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway' and Shefali Shah for 'Three of Us' won the award for Best Actress Critics.
Filmfare Award for Best Actor and Actress in a Supporting Role
Vicky Kaushal took home the award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his performance in the movie 'Dunki'. Shabana Azmi won the Best Actress in a Supporting Role for the movie 'Rocky Rani Ki Prem Kahani'.
Best Film award
'12th Fail' received the Best Film award in the category of Popularity while 'Joram' won the Best Film award in the category of Critics choice.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra won the Best Director award for the movie '12th Fail'.
Filmfare Awards for Best Lyrics, Best music album
Amitabh Bhattacharya won the Best Lyrics award for the song 'Tere Vaaste' from the movie 'Zara Hatke Zara Bachke'. Movie 'Animal' won the Best music album award; the music of the movie was given by Pritam, Vishal Mishra, Manan Bhardwaj, Jaani, Bhupinder Babbal, Ashim Kemson, Shreyas Puranik, Harshwardhan Rameshwar and Gurinder Seagal.
Filmfare Awards for Best Playback Singer Male and Female
Bhupinder Babbal won the Best Playback Singer Male ward for the song 'Arjan Vailly' from the movie 'Animal'. Shilpa Rao won the Best Playback Singer Female award for her song 'Besharam Rang' from the movie 'Pathaan'.
Filmfare Awards for Best Story, Screenplay and Dialogue
Amit Rao won the Best Story award for the movie 'OMG 2'. Vidhu Vinod Chopra won the Best Screenplay award for the movie '12th Fail'. Ishita Moitra won the Best Dialogue award for the movie 'Rocky Rani Ki Prem Kahani'.
Special Awards by Filmfare
David Dhawan was honored by the Lifetime Achievement Award and Shreyas Puranik was honored by the RD Burman Award for Upcoming music Talent for the song 'Satranga' from the movie 'Animal'
The Filmfare Awards event also witnessed some electrifying performances by Kareena Kapoor, Karishma Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Ranbir Kapoor and Kartik Aryan.
