According to police, the man—whose name has not been made public—was taken into custody in a neighborhood close to the Hainault subterranean station. It was just before seven in the morning when police received a call about a car breaking into a residence in the Thurlow Gardens neighborhood and claims of stabbings. After calling the event "shocking," Prime Minister Rishi Sunak stated, "Such violence has no place on our streets." Hainault subterranean station was closed, according to Transport for London, because of a local police investigation.

Due to serious but non-life-threatening injuries, both need surgery.
