Narendra Modi's speech at the World Governments Summit 2024

Addressing the World Governments Summit in Dubai, Prime Minister Modi stressed that governments ought to be transparent, inclusive, and able to lead by example. Our administration has made social and financial inclusion its top goal. In India, about 50 crore individuals who previously lacked a bank account now have access to financial services. India has advanced in the fields of digital payments and Fintech as a result. We also supported progress driven by women.

Prime Minister Modi also said that in light of the current national transformation, is it not also appropriate for the global governance institutions to undergo reform? We must advocate for the issues facing the developing countries and the South's involvement in international decision-making. We must pay attention to the concerns of the Global South, prioritize their needs, and assist the less fortunate nations. Global prototypes for new problems like cybercrime, crypto currencies, and artificial intelligence will need to be made. Prioritizing our national sovereignty while upholding the integrity of international law will be necessary. 1.4 billion Indians bring talent, technology, and innovation to the table; we bring scale and speed, quantity and quality to every mission. Inclusion increases the credibility and capability of any institution.

Modi further added that every day, mankind faces new difficulties brought about by terrorism in its different expressions. Climate-related issues are become more pervasive these days. There are domestic issues on the one hand and an apparent mess in the international system on the other.

On 13th February Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammad shared two pictures of the iconic building which showed the Burj Khalifa lit up with colours of the Indian flag and logo of the World Governments Summit on X and wrote, "We extend a warm welcome to the Republic of India, the guest of honour at this year’s World Governments Summit, and to His Excellency Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India. The strong ties between our nations serve as a model for international cooperation. The @WorldGovSummit has evolved into one of the world’s leading platforms for sharing governance best practices, success stories and initiatives, and envisioning the future of government. It is a pleasure to have India as a distinguished guest at this international event, where it will showcase its innovations, initiatives and projects across diverse sectors that are a model for accelerating development for government service delivery."
