Rameshwarma Cafe in Bengaluru's Brookefield district reopened on 8th March
Reopened on 8th March, Friday, the Rameshwarma Cafe in Bengaluru's Brookefield district has been offering its patrons the "safest and exceptional dining experience" for a week now, following the low-intensity blast. The café is planning a "powerful comeback" and has made particular plans to protect the public. The café was reopened on Friday; however it stated that on Saturday, 9th March, it will open to the public at six in the morning.
The cafe had established special security arrangements in advance of its reopening ceremony on Friday at 6 p.m. The well-known restaurant has installed metal detectors. In addition, security was employed to monitor every client and any questionable behavior.
The owner of Rameshwarma Cafe, Raghavendra Rao, "We are re-opening the cafe tomorrow. We start our day with the national anthem. It is our mantra. We have given all CCTV footage and information. We are cooperating with them. We are very thankful to the government for helping us reopen the cafe so soon. NIA will soon bring the culprit before us. We have taken all precautions before reopening," Rao told ANI. He further added, "The government and police have guided us on where to install more CCTVs. We will appoint one person just to keep a watch on the premises; authorities are also helping out with the metal detectors."
On 8th March, a video footage posted on X by National Investigation Agency (NIA) read, "NIA seeks the cooperation of the public in identifying the suspect linked to the Rameshwarma Cafe blast case. People can contact 080-29510900 or 8904241100. They could also email the information to info.blr.nia@gov.in and their identity will be kept secret."
On 1st March, a man entered the café and placed an explosives-filled bag with an hourly timer next to it. The explosion at the well-known restaurant in the Brookefield neighborhood injured ten people. The culprit, whose image has been recorded on CCTV, has been awarded a reward of Rs 10 lakh by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). According to PTI, as part of their combined investigation into the bomb on 1st March, the NIA and Central Crime Branch apprehended a fabric seller from Ballari's Kaul Bazaar. The teams believe that the detenu, an active participant in the outlawed Popular Front of India (PFI), was involved in the scheme. The individual who put the bomb at the restaurant on March 1 traveled from Bengaluru to Tumakuru, Ballari, Bidar, and finally Bhatkal, according to the investigating teams.
A post on the official X account of the commissioner from 2nd March read, "As regards Rameshwarma cafe incident, investigation is in full swing. Several teams are working on different leads obtained so far. Keeping in mind the sensitivity of the case and the security concerns, media is appealed not to indulge in speculation and co-operate."
Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said, "Our officers are getting close (to crack the case). Some vital information was received yesterday and day-before-yesterday, which we have taken very seriously. If we proceed this way then we will complete the investigation.”
